Pop Up Park at MC2

Date:
25 Mar 2015

To celebrate “Active April”, the forecourt of MC2 at 687 Doncaster Road is set to be transformed into a Pop Up Park, full of gigantic fun and games.

The Pop Up Park will be launched with a Free School Holiday Event on Wednesday 8 April, 11.00 am – 2.00 pm which features a free family barbecue and inflatable games, and will then operate on weekdays until Friday 17 April.

Manningham Mayor, Cr Paul McLeish, encouraged everyone to get Active in April and take advantage of the range of free activities and team building opportunities on offer in the Pop Up Park.

“I think it is a great concept and I look forward to seeing residents and families, community and school groups, and local businesses all trying their hand at a range of free interactive outdoor games.”

Activities will be set up in the Pop Up Park each day, with both free play and structured games offering something for everyone and featuring large scale outdoor games such as:

  • GIANT GAMES Jenga, Chess, Connect Four, Noughts and Crosses and Tumbling Dominoes
  • BACKYARD GAMES Turf Croquet, Elastics, Hopscotch, Four Squares, Juggling and Hula Hoops
  • RELAXED GAMES Shady seated games of Snakes and Ladders, Checkers and Brain teasers
  • BIG SANDPIT HUNT Find the dinosaurs and jewels in the big sandpit
  • ARTS ACTIVITIES Chalk drawing and other creative fun

Opportunities also exist for local businesses and community groups to book the space for a team building session. They may like to hire our sporty facilitator, or simply book the space for more casual competitive fun.
