Manningham Council has welcomed the announcement of an affordable housing development to be constructed in Doncaster Hill, which is expected to be completed by April 2011.
The $39.7 million 10 storey apartment complex, to be located at 95 - 99 Tram Road, will comprise 98 affordable rental housing units and be managed by Loddon Malle Housing Services (LMHS), one of the leading providers of affordable housing and homelessness services in Victoria.

The State Government has provided a capital grant equating to 75 per cent of the cost of the project from the Federal Government’s Nation Building Program, with the remaining funding provided by LMHS.
Manningham, and Doncaster Hill specifically, was chosen for this innovative project as a Principal Activity Centre that provides ready access to public transport and a full range of public and private services.
The development will include one, two and three bedroom apartments, with six apartments modified for tenants with a disability. Fixtures and fittings will be selected for their quality and durability and will have high environmental and energy efficiency ratings.

Affordable Housing supports sustainable economic development through the establishment of suitably located housing options for working people. It also offers tenants long-term rental security and a sense of place and belonging.
