Affordable housing development officially opened

Haven's affordable housing development at 95-99 Tram Road was officially opened last month by the Minister for Housing, the Hon. Wendy Lovell MLC.

Tenancy is still available in the contemporary six-star energy rated apartment building, located in close proximity to Westfield Doncaster, public transport, schools and the new Manningham City Square community hub.

Many residents, from pension-level singles and retired couples through to working families earning up to $81,000 a year may be eligible to apply for an apartment at Doncaster Hill's most affordable rental address. In each case, eligibility criteria are assessed, including income and assets.

The $39.7 million development includes one, two and three bedroom apartments, with six apartments modified for tenants with a disability, and was funded through the Australian Government's Nation Building Economic Stimulus Plan. The initiative has been delivered by Haven with Victorian Government support.
Affordable Housing supports sustainable economic development through the establishment of suitably located housing options for working people. It also offers tenants long-term rental security and a sense of place and belonging.
