More funding and expert assistance for the Hill

8 Aug 2008

Eastern Metropolitan MP, Brian Tee, this week announced that the State Government would provide a grant of more than $150,000 for plans to "renew and expand the heart of Doncaster".
The funding consists of three parts:

  • $50,000 of expert advice for planning the Doncaster Hill Principal Activity Centre
  • $50,000 to encourage investment in diverse land uses or developments for key sites in the area
  • $50,000 to facilitate funding advocacy for the Civic Precinct

The expert advice component will help Council implement the Civic Precinct initiative, a $28 million vision including art, welfare, childcare, education and health services. It will assist with community consultation and identification of opportunities.

The funding has been provided through the State Government's Expert Assistance Program.
