Westfield Doncaster shows off its new look with official opening

20 Aug 2007

About 20 months after work began on redevelopment, the new look Westfield Doncaster was officially opened on 16 October by Victorian Premier the Hon. John Brumby.

As part of the $650 million redevelopment, the centre more than doubled in size and expanded from 200 to around 420 stores, creating one of Melbourne's premier retail destinations.
Megan Gale also visited the centre to officially open the new David Jones store on Saturday 18 October.

The Doncaster complex is set to become Westfield's flagship centre in Victoria, joining premium centres at Bondi Junction in Sydney, Century City in Los Angeles, the San Francisco Centre and the soon-to-open Westfield London.
Westfield Doncaster now offers a selection of leading local and international designer brands, a new David Jones, a refurbished Myer, discount department stores Target and Big W, Coles and Safeway supermarkets, a fresh food market, restaurants, food court, and state-of-the-art Village Cinemas.
